Keratoconus is a non-inflammatory eye condition in which the cornea (clear window of the eye) thins over time, creating a dome-shaped bulge in the eye. The reasons behind this are not completely clear, however we do know that people with allergic diseases such as asthma are more prone to Keratoconus.

The change in shape and thinning of the cornea impairs the ability of the eye to focus properly, causing poor vision.
